Patient Advocacy

Reaching Beyond Medicine

As Avalo Therapeutics works to develop therapies that have the potential to address unmet medical needs, we engage with advocacy communities that reflect our areas of research. We collaborate with and support advocacy efforts that increase awareness, information, and resources for people living with serious and rare diseases.

We are committed to improving the lives of patients and families as well as supporting the healthcare professionals responsible for providing their care.

To ensure that our engagement and interactions with advocacy organizations respect the independence of all partners and are built on integrity and trust, Avalo Therapeutics aligns with the Bio Industry Organization’s guiding principles. These principles represent the highest industry standards for interactions with patient groups.

  • Collaborations with advocates are based on our shared objectives of addressing the needs of patients and their families and enabling the development and delivery of therapies that can improve the lives of those living with rare and serious conditions.
  • Avalo should not be the sole supporter of an organization nor make a contribution which may appear to impact an organization’s independence. We strongly encourage the advocacy groups that we support to seek multiple funding sources.
  • Avalo shall respect the privacy of all personal information and data received through all means of engagement.
  • We recognize the importance of transparency in developing enduring relationships that are built on trust and two-way dialogue.
